Goodin
Carl Wesley Goodin,
95, of Atlanta died Tuesday, March 4, 2003, at 9:50 a.m. at the
Hopedale Medical Complex Nursing Home in Hopedale, where he had
resided since July 2002.
There will be no
visitation.
A graveside service
will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Atlanta Cemetery with the Rev.
David Venter officiating.
Quiram Funeral Home
in Atlanta is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Goodin was a
retired farmer. He and his wife lived in Atlanta their entire
married life.
He was born Oct. 28,
1907, in the home of his parents, Franklin and Matilda Bowles Goodin
of Pike County, Mo. He married Harriet M. Turner on June 1, 1929, at
Bowling Green, Mo. She died Feb. 1, 1986. They had no children.
C.W. was preceded in
death by two brothers.
Memorial contributions may be made to a
charity of the donor's choice.
Helen Romer
Helen Romer, 92, of Mount Pulaski died Monday, March 3, 2003, at
9:07 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with the Rev.
Ken Berryman officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.
Mrs. Romer was a retired farmer and housewife.
She was born Aug. 16, 1910, in Decatur to Oran R. and Alma Brust
Gulick. She married Clarence Romer on Jan. 5, 1946, in Decatur. He
died March 23, 1958.
Surviving are one son, Dean Romer of Lincoln; one stepdaughter,
Marilyn (and Jim) Leonard of Illiopolis; three grandchildren; four
great-grandchildren; and one brother, Herbert (and Daisy) Gulick of
Decatur.
She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Mount Pulaski. She
was a past member of the Logan County Farm Bureau and Home
Extension, the Women's Club and Garden Club of Mount Pulaski, and
the former Ladies Auxiliary of the Moose Lodge in Decatur.
She graduated from Brown's Business College in 1929.
Memorials may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church of Mount
Pulaski.

Robert Zeter
Robert "Bob" A. Zeter,
67, of Springfield, formerly of Lincoln, died Monday, March 3, 2003,
at 4:45 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in
Lincoln. A memorial service will follow at 7 p.m., with the Rev.
Henry Johnson officiating.
Burial will be
private at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield.
Mr. Zeter was a union
electrician at Logan Correctional Center.
He served in the U.S.
Army for two years in Germany.
He was born Jan. 18,
1936, in Lincoln to George and Margaret Stocker Zeter. He married
Barbara Young on May 22, 1987. She survives.
Also surviving are
one son, Dean (and Annette) Zeter of Springfield; one daughter,
Terri Sowers of Edinburg; five stepchildren, Sue (and Charlie) Parks
of Houston, Texas, Marla (and Jim) Bailey of Champaign, David
Poggenpohl of Springfield, Dawn Poggenpohl of Springfield and Larry
Poggenpohl of St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren; one brother,
William "Bill" (and MaryKay) Zeter of Bloomington; and several
cousins.
He was a member of
the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers for 45 years and
a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus.
He graduated from
Lincoln High School in 1953.
