Wayne Charles Buse
Wayne Charles Buse,
69, of Chestnut died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at 1:55 a.m. at St.
John's Hospice in Springfield.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
His funeral will be
at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Lincoln,
with the Rev. Ray Hudson officiating.
Burial, with military
rites, will be in Richmond Grove Cemetery, rural New Holland.
Mr. Buse had worked
at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln and farmed in Logan County.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of the Korean War.
He was born July 27,
1933, in Lincoln to Fred and Frieda Buse. He married Jeanette Mosier
on June 24, 1955, at the First United Methodist Church. She died
Aug. 20, 1998.
Surviving are three
sons, Robert W. (and Kathy) Buse of Beason, Darren W. Buse of New
Holland and B. Lynn (and Tammy) Buse of Hartsburg; eight
grandchildren; one brother, Melvin Buse of Lincoln; and one sister,
Dorothy Cheney of Allenville.
He was a member of
First United Methodist Church of Lincoln.
He was associated
with the Railsplitter Festival and the Craft Guild of New Salem and
Clayville for a number of years.
Memorials may be made to the educational
fund at Chester-East Lincoln School or to the Railsplitter Festival.
Bertha Kellems
Bertha Kellems, 92,
of Atlanta died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at 5:35 p.m. at DeWitt
County Nursing Home, rural Clinton, where she had resided since
September of 2000.
Her funeral was Monday
morning at the Atlanta United Methodist Church, with the
Rev. David Venter officiating. Visitation preceded the service.
Burial is in
Pleasant Valley Cemetery, Kenney.
Quiram Funeral Home
of Atlanta was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Kellems was a
homemaker.
She was born July 27,
1910, at Kenney to Andrew J. and Ida Mae Winebrinner Davis. She
married John Kellems on Aug. 30, 1928, at Kenney. He died Nov. 10,
1984.
Surviving are two
sons, Nelson (and Ramona) Kellems of McLean and William (and
Dorothy) Kellems of Waynesville; one daughter, Delores (and Milton)
Howard of Atlanta; 12 grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; 13
great-grandchildren; and eight step-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded
in death by one daughter, two sisters and three brothers.
She will be sadly
missed by family and friends.
She was a member of the Atlanta United
Methodist Church for more than 50 years.
Memorial contributions may be made to her
church.

Peter Andrews
Peter C. Andrews, 83,
of Lincoln died Friday, March 28, 2003, at 6:25 p.m. at the
Christian Village.
Visitation will be
from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Kerrigan-Peasley Funeral Home in Lincoln.
The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
A Mass of Christian
celebration will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic
Church in Lincoln, with Monsignor E. Edward Higgins officiating.
Burial, with military
rites, will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln.

Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Andrews and his
wife owned and operated the GEM Restaurant in Lincoln for 39 years,
and he served as mayor of Lincoln from 1984 to 1988.
He was a U.S. Army
veteran of World War II.
He was born Aug. 20,
1919 in Porrovitsa-Akrata, Greece, to Costa and Katherine Rufogales
Androutsopoulos. He married Josephine Danosky on Oct. 12, 1946, in
Lincoln. She survives.
Other survivors are
three sons, George (and Sandra) Andrews of Peoria, Michael (and
Kathy) Andrews of Springfield and John (and Debbie) Andrews of
Lincoln; one daughter, Kathy (and Earl) Kirshner of Chicago; six
grandchildren, Theresa C. Andrews, Gregory A. Andrews, Aaron M.
Andrews, Anthony M. Andrews, John Thomas Andrews and Julian Kirshner;
two brothers, the Rev. John Androutsopoulos of Pittsburg, Pa., and
Panos Androutsopoulos of Porrovitsa-Akrata, Greece; and two sisters,
Athanasia Pampouki and Eleni Nikolopoulou, both of Porrovitsa-Akrata,
Greece.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and two brothers, Tom Andrews and Spiro
Androutsopoulos.
He was a member of
Holy Family Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Lincoln Council
1250, Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, Lincoln AMVETS 71, American Legion
Post 263, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1756, Forty et Eight,
Lincoln Railer Booster Club and was active in the Lincoln baseball
program.
Mr. Andrews was
lovingly surrounded by his family at the time of his passing.
Memorials may be made to the building
fund of the American Legion or for Masses for deceased family
members.
