Clarence 'Wilbur' Pollock

Clarence "Wilbur" Pollock, 78, of Lincoln died Thursday (May 8, 2003) at 1:15 a.m. at St. John's North in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, and the funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, both at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Burial, with military rites, will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mr. Pollock retired from CILCO's gas department in 1980 after 29 years of service.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He was born Oct. 25, 1924, in Logan County to Clarence E. and Ida Knaak Pollock. He married Ferne Patterson on Oct. 25, 1947, in Lincoln.

Survivors are his wife, of Lincoln; two sons, Dennis Pollock of Mount Pulaski and Darrel Pollock of Lincoln; one daughter, Becky (and Phil) Gehlbach of Lincoln; five grandchildren, Clinton Pollock of Chicago, Brad (and April) Pollock of Lincoln, Jason Pollock of Lincoln, Ashley Pollock of Mount Pulaski and Beth Bangert of Lincoln; three great-grandchildren, Dalton and Kolton Bangert and Kellsie Gehlbach, all of Lincoln; one brother, Robert (and Mary) Pollock of Delavan; and one sister, Ida Mae (and Richard) Sielaff of Lincoln.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Pollock.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to his church or the American Cancer Society.
