Esta Stiltz
Esta Frances Stiltz, 85, of Easton died
Friday (May 30, 2003) at 11:25 a.m. at Havana Health Care Center in
Havana.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday
at Hurley Funeral Home, 603 E. Chestnut in Mason City. Richard
Stiltz will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the
service.
Burial will be in Easton Cemetery.
Mrs. Stiltz was a homemaker for her
family and helped on the farm.
She was born March 12, 1918, in
Chestnut to Charles and Bessie Gallaway Dietz. She married Raymond
Nelson Stiltz on July 25, 1936, in Jacksonville. He died Dec. 6,
2001.
Surviving are two sons, George (and
Linda) Stiltz of Havana and James C. (and Viola) Stiltz of Easton;
one daughter, Eunice (and Ed) Heinhorst of Forest City; 13
grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Elsie
Stiltz of Missouri.
She was also preceded in death by one
sister, three brothers and one grandchild.
She was a member of Easton Baptist
Church.

Minnie Carpenter
Minnie J. Carpenter, 70, of Middletown died
Wednesday (May 28, 2003) at 10 a.m. at New Salem Campgrounds,
Petersburg.
Visitation was on Friday and her funeral on
Saturday morning at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln. The
Rev. Henry Cox officiated at the service.
Burial is in Irish Grove Cemetery,
Middletown.
Mrs. Carpenter was a retired beautician.
She was born Dec. 10, 1932, in Middletown to
George and Birdie Mae Giertz Boward. She married Eugene Carpenter.
He died in 1997.
Survivors are one daughter, Marsha Carpenter of
Greenview; one son, Kent Carpenter (and Kim) of Bloomington; four
grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Ilda Heyen of
Greenview, Myna Dawbacher (and Glenn) of Middletown, Harriet
Richardson of Elkhart, Norma Duncan (and Ralph) of Springfield and
Ellen Mason (and Paul) of Middletown; and one brother, Ted Boward
(and Jan) of Kankakee.
She was a member of the Middletown Methodist
Church, the American Legion and Auxiliary of Middletown, and the
Greenview AMVETS Auxiliary.

James Ginger
James Edward Ginger, 37, of Mount
Pulaski died Wednesday (May 28, 2003) at 1:31 a.m. at his home.
Visitation was on Friday and his
funeral was Saturday morning, both at the First Christian Church in Mount Pulaski. Darrell Garrett and
Sister Geanene-Carol Inherst officiated at the service.
Burial, with military rites, was in Steenbergen Cemetery, Mount Pulaski.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Mount Pulaski handled arrangements.
Mr. Ginger was a correctional officer
at Logan Correctional Center in Lincoln for 15 years.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to
1988.
He was born Sept. 25, 1965, in Decatur
to Nial and Karon Smith Ginger. He married Penny Moore in Mount
Pulaski on June 6, 1984.
Surviving are his wife; two sons, James
Edward Ginger Jr. and David Alan Ginger, both of Mount Pulaski; one
daughter, Ashley Noel Ginger of Mount Pulaski; his parents, Nial and
Karon Ginger of Warrensburg; two brothers, Nial (and Melinda) Ginger
Jr. of Decatur and Rodney (and Julie) Ginger of Mount Pulaski; one
sister, Melissa Ginger of Decatur; and his maternal grandmother,
Evelyn Smith of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by one
brother, Jeffrey Ginger; his paternal grandparents and maternal
grandfather; one niece; and one nephew.
He was a member of the Church of God in
Lincoln.
He had been president of AFSCME Local
2073 for five years.

Carol Britsch
Carol A. Britsch, 64, of Lincoln died
Thursday (May 29, 2003) at 5:33 a.m. at her home.
Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday
at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan
officiating. There will be no visitation.
Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Ms. Britsch was a retired line worker
of 32 years at Lehn and Fink in Lincoln.
She was born April 7, 1939, in Logan
County to Paul and Florence Cronin Funk.
Surviving are her mother, of Lincoln;
two sons, James Britsch of Raleigh, N.C., and Trace (and Veronica)
Britsch of Linwood, N.J.; one daughter, Kathy (and Michael) Martinie
of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Mia Martinie of Lincoln, Taleah
Britsch of Linwood, N.J., Tim Lhota of Linwood, N.J., and Darren
Lhota of Yuma, Ariz.; two brothers, Edward Funk of Lincoln and
Joseph Funk of New Holland; and three sisters, Roberta Bradley,
Shirley Wolpert and Laura Skelton, all of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her father
and one daughter, Kelly.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran
Church in Lincoln.

Ruth Fitchhorn
Ruth I. Fitchhorn,
84, of McLean died Tuesday (May 27, 2003) at 11:59 a.m. at John
Warner Hospital in Clinton.
Visitation was on
Friday at the McLean Christian Church, and her funeral was Saturday
morning at the McLean United Methodist Church.
Burial is in
Funks Grove Cemetery, rural McLean.
Quiram Funeral Home,
Atlanta, handled arrangements.
Mrs. Fitchhorn was a
homemaker and helped her husband farm for many years in Funks Grove
Township.
She was born June 14,
1918, in DeWitt County to Earl S. and Alta Cunningham Crum. She
married Paul K. Fitchhorn on June 14, 1937, in Lincoln. He died
March 20, 1999.
Surviving are one
son, Ron (and Yvonne) Fitchhorn of McLean; one daughter, Carol Ann
(and Milton) Tarbox of Clinton; four grandsons; five
great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lura Murphy of Wapella and Ella
Faye Studeman of Heyworth; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in
death by three sisters.
She was a member of
the McLean United Methodist Church.

Mona Haggerty
A graveside service for Mona Fae
Haggerty was on Saturday morning at Mason City Cemetery. The
Rev. Bruce Bolin-Ghitalla officiated. There was no visitation.
Mrs. Haggerty, 88, formerly of Mason
City, died March 19, 2003, in Winter Haven, Fla., and was cremated.
Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City
handled local arrangements.
Mrs. Haggerty worked in the portrait
studio at Bergner's in Peoria for 30 years.
She was born Jan. 25, 1915, in Bureau
County to Jasper and Ellen Lough Imig. She married Lewis Haggerty in
Canton in 1942. He has died.
Several nieces and nephews survive:
Marilyn (and Bill) Buse of Mason City, Lyle (and Donna) Imig of
Winter Haven, Fla., Robert Imig of Mason City and Joan Schoonover of
Redding, Calif.
She was also preceded in death by one
sister, Blanche Walters, who lived in Teheran; two brothers, John
and Lorin Imig; and a stillborn child.
