Mabel Brandt
Mabel M. "Babe" Brandt, 91, of
Lincoln died Wednesday (Nov. 19, 2003), at 4:40 p.m. at the
Christian Village.
A graveside service will be at
11:30 a.m. Friday at New Union Cemetery, Lincoln, with Tim Searby
officiating.
There will be no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral
Home of Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Brandt taught for 25 years
in various rural grade schools, including Musick, Beason and Layman
schools in Logan County. She then taught at Central and Northwest
schools in Lincoln. Later she taught in the Rock Falls and Sterling
area for several years.
She was born Dec. 31, 1911, in
Hartsburg to Herman T. and Caroline Buchholz Meyer. She married
Wilbur "Shine" Brandt on Nov. 12, 1938, in Indianapolis, Ind. He
died Aug. 15, 1975.
Survivors are two brothers,
Elmond "Pick" (and Jackie) Meyer of New Holland and Kenneth (and
Betty) Meyer of Lincoln, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death
by two brothers.
She was a member of First
United Methodist Church in Lincoln.

William 'Frank' Lockard
William "Frank"
Lockard, 59, of Lincoln died Monday (Nov. 17, 2003) at 5:45 a.m. at
Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Mr. Lockard was
cremated.
A graveside service
with military rites will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Camp Butler National
Cemetery, Springfield, with the Rev. Clyde Shreve officiating.
There is no
visitation.
Arrangements are
being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Mr. Lockard was a
self-employed carpenter.
He served in the U.S.
Army from 1966 to 1968.
He was born June 6,
1944, in Chicago to Herman and Bessie Watson Lockard.
Survivors are three
daughters, Ada (and James) Harris of Electic, Ala., LaDonna Thompson
of Decatur and Sandra Parker of California; nine grandchildren; and
one sister, Louise (and Noble) Webster Sr. of Lincoln.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and three brothers.
He was a member of
the Southern Baptist Church of Lincoln.

Harry Ausmus
Harry W. Ausmus, 66, of Atlanta
died Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2003) at 6:30 p.m. at his home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8
p.m. Thursday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Quiram Funeral Home
in Atlanta. The funeral service will be at Quiram at 11 a.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Atlanta
Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by
Gresham-Crutchley American Legion Post 341.
Mr. Ausmus was a member of
Teamsters Union 916 and was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He was born Dec. 22, 1936, at
Springfield to James and Edna Ragger Ausmus.
Survivors are three daughters,
Kimberly (and Fred) Herr of Springfield, Kathy Ausmus of Auburn and
Sue Allen of Springfield; one son, Bill Nickell of Auburn; several
grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one sister, Nedra "Deed"
Packinham of Springfield; three brothers, Bob Ausmus of Springfield,
Bill Ausmus of Williamsville and James "Popcorn" Ausmus of
Springfield; and several nieces and nephews.
He
was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and three
sisters.

Robert
Hayter
Robert Darnell Hayter,
79, of Lincoln died Thursday (Nov. 20, 2003) at 8:52 a.m. at the
Christian Village Nursing Home.
Visitation will be
from 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Holland and Barry Funeral Home in
Lincoln.
A graveside service
will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Keys Cemetery, Beason, with Todd Phelps
officiating. Military rites will be conducted at the grave.
Mr. Hayter worked
five years at Lincoln Developmental Center and was a self-employed
truck driver with W.G. Colburn, Ruan Trucking Co. in Peoria and
later for Central Illinois Express.
He was a U.S. Navy
veteran of World War II.
He was born Oct. 23,
1924, in Atlanta to Walter C. and Rhoda Shelton Hayter. He married
Eva Howen on Aug. 15, 1942, in St. Louis, Mo. She survives.
Other survivors are
three daughters, Joyce Gleason of Lincoln, Jacquelyn Zaffiri of
Bloomington and Peggy Tackett (and Michael) of Lincoln; seven
grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Hayter
of Bloomington.
He was of the
Methodist faith.
He was a member of
the Teamsters union and American Legion Post 263.
Memorials may be made to American Legion
Post 263 or the Christian Village Nursing Home.
Richard Hindahl
Richard Winfield
Hindahl, 73, of Morton, formerly of San Jose, died Wednesday (Nov.
19, 2003) at 6:20 a.m. at Morton Terrace.
His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City. Visitation
will be one hour before the service.
Burial will be in
Allen's Grove Cemetery, rural San Jose.
He was born June 10,
1930, in rural San Jose to Walter F. Sr. and Zelma Scott Hindahl.
Survivors are two
brothers, Walter F. Hindahl of Petersburg, Ind., and John Hindahl of
New Smyrna Beach, Fla.
He was preceded in
death by his parents and one brother.
He was a member of
St. Luke's Lutheran Church, San Jose.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
donor's choice.

'Patty' Perry
Patrice B. "Patty"
Perry, 42, of Lincoln died Tuesday (Nov. 18, 2003) at 8:32 p.m.
at BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.
Visitation will be
from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in
Lincoln. A prayer service will be conducted at 7 p.m.
Her funeral will be
at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church in Lincoln, with the
Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in
Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mrs. Perry was a
technician at Graue Pharmacy in Lincoln.
She was born April 3,
1961, in Hawaii to Byron and Eleanor Bradley Lloyd. She married
Robert "Boe" Perry on June 4, 1983, in Springfield. He survives.
Other survivors are
her parents, of Springfield; two sons, Robert "Robby" and Patrick,
both of Lincoln; three brothers, Mike Lloyd of Indianapolis, Ind.,
Byron (and Julie) Lloyd of Springfield and Brad (and Jodi) Lloyd of
Springfield; three sisters, Sharon Schmitt and Bobbie Barrett, both
of Springfield, and Colleen (and Stephan) Lauter of Gainesville,
Fla.; and several nieces, nephews, great-nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in
death by an infant brother, Byron Patrick.
She was a member of
Holy Family Church in Lincoln and an active volunteer for many
school and church activities.
Memorials may be made to the church or
the American Cancer Society.
