Troy Larson
Troy R. Larson, 36, of Granite City,
formerly of Lincoln, died Sunday (Nov. 23, 2003) at 3 p.m. at
Hampton, Va.
A private family service will be at
Holland and Barry Funeral Home in Lincoln.
Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery,
Lincoln.
Mr. Larson was a laborer for Onyx industrial
cleaning service in Franklin, Mo.
He was born Sept. 10, 1967, in Lincoln.
He married Bethany White on March 4, 2003, in Florida.
Survivors are his wife, of Granite
City; his parents, Thomas and Betty Bartman Larson of Lincoln; one
stepson, Mark White of Granite City; one daughter, Kristin, of
Bloomington; one brother, John Larson of Lincoln; and several aunts
and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his
maternal grandmother and aunt and his paternal grandmother.

Joann
Hughes
Joann E. Hughes, 61, of Lincoln died Friday (Nov. 21, 2003) at 11:28
p.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.
She
was cremated, and there will be no services.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Lincoln is handling
arrangements.
She
was a receptionist for Material Handling Services in Peoria.
She
was born June 13, 1942, in Kell to H.C. and Mildred Beck Edgemon.
She married Jerry M. Hughes on July 8, 1972, in Lincoln. He died
July 9, 1980.
She
was also preceded in death by her father.
Survivors are her mother, Mildred Edgemon of Lincoln; one brother,
Larry Edgemon of Warrenton, Mo.; and one sister, Melinda (and Terry)
Spangler of Lincoln.

Curtis
John F. "Jack"
Curtis, 81, of Lincoln died Sunday (Nov. 23, 2003) at 2:10 a.m. at
his home.
His funeral will be
at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Father Edward
Higgins officiating. Visitation and an Elks service were at the
funeral home on Tuesday.
Burial, with military
rites, will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Curtis was a
construction engineer for the Clinton power plant.
He served in the U.S.
Navy from 1942 to 1945, during World War II.
He was born June 18,
1922, in Minneapolis, Minn., to Percy H. and Mary Coughlin Curtis.
He married Jean Bunner on Nov. 17, 1984, in Lincoln. She survives.
Other survivors are
one son, Richard (and Barbara) Curtis of Port Huron, Mich.; two
daughters, Pamela Curtis of Wyandotte, Mich., and Claudia (and
Steve) Alspaugh of Fowlerville, Mich.; two stepsons, David (and
Anna) Fisher of Pekin and John Fisher of Lincoln; two stepdaughters,
Sharon (and William) Clark of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Kathie (and
Tom) Vincent of Lincoln; eight grandchildren and 11
stepgrandchildren; and six great-grandchildren and four
step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by his first wife, Molly, and one daughter, Cynthia.
He was a member of
American Legion Post 263; VFW Post 1756; Knights of Columbus, 4th
degree; Lincoln Elks Lodge 914, of which he was a past exalted
ruler; Forty Et Eight; and Kiwanis.

George Blaum III
George W. Blaum III, 80, of Lincoln
died Friday (Nov. 21, 2003) at 12:58 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center
in Springfield.
Visitation was on Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral was
Wednesday morning at the New Holland United Methodist Church, with Doug Rettig officiating.
Military rites were conducted with the
burial in Richmond Grove Cemetery, New Holland.
Mr. Blaum was a salesman of building
supplies.
He was born May 13, 1923, in New
Holland to George W. II and Fern Crumpler Blaum. He married Cary R.
Hanson on March 16, 1946, in Lewiston, Maine. She survives.
Other survivors are three sons, George
William "Bill" Blaum IV of Traverse City, Mich., Steven R. Blaum of
Mesquite, Texas, and Kevin L. Blaum of Durango, Colo; two daughters,
Sharon (and Wallace Lynn) Bryant of Middletown and Joyce (and Ray)
Bryant of Memphis, Tenn.; 13 grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Virginia Aldag of New
Holland, Sherrill Blaum of New Holland and Patricia (and Wayne)
Laforge of New Holland.
He was preceded in death by two
brothers, Derwood and Richard L. Blaum.
He was a member of New Holland United
Methodist Church, Lincoln American Legion Post 263, a past commander
of New Holland American Legion Post 715 and past exalted ruler of
Lincoln Elks Lodge 914.
