Across the nation blood shortages are causing great concern within
the medical community. Fortunately for our families and friends,
local donors have responded and helped fill the blood needs of
patients in our hospitals. However, blood is a renewable resource
and must be constantly replaced. It is vital that community members
support their local blood supply. After all, it is your family,
friends and neighbors whose lives depend on an adequate blood
supply. Unfortunately, blood collections are traditionally
depressed at this time. Central Illinois Community Blood Center
needs your help to keep Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital, and other
area hospitals supplied with blood.
There can be no greater gift than the
gift of life. Patients in our hospitals cannot suspend their need
for blood just because of the holiday season. Please share your
health with those less fortunate during this season of love and
caring.
The Central Illinois Community Blood
Center (CICBC) is a not-for-profit organization serving area
hospitals and is a member of America’s Blood Centers (ABC), a
network of community blood centers that collects over half of the
nation’s blood supply. All blood donated during this drive will be
used by area hospitals.
Roll up your sleeve and do your part to
protect our community by giving a gift that lasts a lifetime on
Monday, December 1. Donors will receive a holiday “squeezie”. Stop
by the Logan County Paramedic Building in Lincoln and see how you
can become a hometown hero – a blood donor.
