Eldon Logan, 80, of
Lincoln passed away at the Christian Village Nursing Home Wednesday
(Sept. 26, 2003) at 8:25 p.m.
Visitation and funeral services were held Saturday morning at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln with Rev. Carroll
Richards presiding. Burial is in Zion Cemetery, Lincoln.
Mr. Logan was operated a service
station in Canton and was business partners with his brother Howard
in the Lincoln Dairy Queen. He also raised and sold chicken
broilers. He was retired from the Logan County Highway Maintenance
Department.
He graduated Farmington High School
and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp., WWII.
He was born in Barry, Il on Oct.
21, 1923 to Thomas E. and Iva Burrell Logan.
He married Carol Crabtree on Oct.
27, 1945 in Lewiston. She survives with sons Alan (Chris) Logan of
Burlington, WI and Phil (Gloria) Logan, Lincoln and daughter Laura
Parli, St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are sisters Mildred Wheeler
of Canton, Jeanne Kerker of Blue Lake, CA and Ada Heller,
Murphysboro; two granddaughters, Beth and Rebecca Logan of Lincoln;
two grandsons, Adam and Ben Parli of St. Louis and great-grandson,
Caleb White, Lincoln.
He was preceded in death by his
parents, four brothers and three sisters.

Anna Minder,
94, of Lincoln died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, (Nov. 28, 2003) at Maple
Ridge Care Centre, Lincoln. Mrs. Minder had resided there the last
several years.
Funeral services will be held at
9:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Church, Lincoln. Burial will be in
Holy Cross Cemetery, Lincoln. Visitation will be 5 – 7 p.m. Sunday
at Peasley Funeral Home, Lincoln. There will be a Rosary Service at
7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Minder was born in Lincoln on
January 2, 1909 the daughter of Richard and Anna Auer Stuan. She
married Orville C. Minder Aug. 25, 1938 in Lincoln. Mr. Minder died
on Nov. 27, 2001.
Surviving are one daughter,
Marianne E. (Raymond) Rakers of Springfield and one son, Gary L.
(Cynthia) Minder of Lincoln. She is also survived by eight
grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and
nephews.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Mrs. Minder was a homemaker.
She was a member of Holy Family
Church, Lincoln.
