Arlene Workman
Arlene Workman, 68, of Lincoln died
Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) at 3:09 p.m. at her home.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no visitation.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m.
Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with
Tom Gerdts officiating.
Burial will be at a later date at
Lawndale Cemetery.
She was employed at Lincoln
Developmental Center for 30 years.
She was born May 13, 1935, in Chestnut
to Lloyd and Georgiabelle Bradway Lakin.
Survivors are one son, William G. (and
Tina) Workman of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; and one brother,
Michael (and Lynn) Lakin of Mount Pulaski.
She was preceded in death by her
parents, two brothers and one son, Michael.
She was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church.
Memorials
may be given to the education fund at Union Planters Bank in Lincoln
for the children of Michael Workman.

Robert Simpson
Robert W. Simpson, 80, of Lincoln died
Thursday (Oct. 2, 2003) at 4:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial
Hospital.
He was cremated, and there is no
visitation.
A graveside service will be at 9:30
a.m. Thursday at Irish Grove Cemetery,
Middletown, with Father Edward Higgins officiating. There will also
be military rites.
Mr. Simpson had worked at Pittsburg
Plate Glass Co. in Lincoln.
He served in the U.S. Air Force from
1942 to 1943.
He was born Aug. 30, 1923, in
Covenington, Ky., to James and Katy Mae Hooker Simpson. He married
Oca Lorene Sparks on Sept. 9, 1952, in Jacksonville. She died March
21, 1987.
He was also preceded in death by two
sons, one daughter and his brothers and sisters. He was the last of
his immediate family.
He is
survived by caretakers Judy Crosier and Shirley Skelton and by
several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ronald Arnold
Ronald Louis Arnold, 67, of Emden died
Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) at 6:08 p.m. in rural Emden.
His funeral was Wednesday morning at Holland and Barry
in Lincoln, with Pastor William Allen Payne
officiating. Visitation was on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Burial is in Hartsburg Union
Cemetery.
Mr. Arnold was a self-employed Logan
County farmer and woodworker. He had also worked at Caterpillar
Tractor Co. in East Peoria from 1968 to 1984.
He was born Jan. 21, 1936, in rural
Emden to Louis Christian and Bertha Ella Wiggers Arnold. He married
Lu Ann Reiners on July 17, 1954, at Carthage. She survives.
Other survivors are three daughters,
Ronetta Payne (and John) of Atlanta, Kathryn Meeks (and Robert) of
Bloomington and Phyllis White (and Dan) of Lincoln; six
grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Memorials
may be made to the Emden Rescue Squad.
Otto Krause
Otto O. Krause, 91, of Lincoln died
Saturday (Oct. 4, 2003) at 10:40 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in
Springfield.
Visitation was on Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.
His funeral was Wednesday morning at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tom Gerdts and Robert
Twist officiating.
Burial, with military rites, was in
Park Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.
Mr. Krause was a cabinetmaker. He owned
and operated Krause Wood Products in Bloomington for 42 years.
He was a staff sergeant in the Army
Corps of Engineers from 1943 to 1946, during World War II.
He was born Feb. 1, 1912, in
Bloomington to Otto K. and Ernestina Klink Krause. He married Clara
G. Houser on June 25, 1938, in Bloomington. She died March 25, 1971.
He married Violet Twist in Lincoln on Dec. 21, 1986. She survives.
Other survivors are three stepsons,
Matthew (and Sunil) Twist of Lincoln, Milo (and Sherry) Twist of
Washington and Robert (and Donna) Twist of Elkhart; three
stepgrandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces
and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by five
sisters and one brother.
He was a member of Lincoln Christian
Church and a 20-year member of Sounds of Illinois in Bloomington.
