Earl
Schroth
Earl Dean Schroth, 63, of Quincy,
formerly of Mount Pulaski, died Tuesday (Oct. 14, 2003), at 1:44
a.m. at the Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy.
A graveside service and military rites
will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Camp Butler National Cemetery,
Riverton. American Legion Chaplain Joe Lucas will officiate.
There is no visitation.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of
Mount Pulaski is handling arrangements.
Mr. Schroth worked for the U.S. Navy
Defense Intelligence Agency at the Pentagon. He served in the U.S.
Navy from 1957 to 1976.
He was born June 4, 1940, in Decatur to
Irvin Earl and Wardie Roselda Coates Schroth.
Survivors are one brother, Charles (and
Mary) Schroth of Latham; four sisters, Elizabeth Hawk of Chatham,
Norma Shehorn of Mount Pulaski, Carol (and Larry) Alsup of Beason
and Sonia (and Paul) Heft of Kenney; 13 nieces; and four nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents
and one nephew.
He was of the Methodist faith.
He was a
member of Mount Pulaski American Legion Post 447, to which memorials
may be made.

Ethel Wade
Ethel R. Wade, 92, of
Lincoln died Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) at 10:45 a.m. at St. Clara's
Manor.
A graveside service
was Wednesday morning at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. The Rev. Jame
Hahs officiated.
There was no
visitation.
Mrs. Wade was a
homemaker.
She was born March 1,
1911, in Lincoln to Fred and Leola Robbins. She married Clayton S.
Wade, and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded
in death by one son, Bob Wade.
She is survived by
one granddaughter, Elizabeth Carter of Sonoma, Calif., and several
nephews and nieces in the Lincoln area.
Memorials may be made to the donor's

Rosa Dumas
Rosa Barbara Korbe Dumas, 87, of
Lincoln died Thursday (Oct. 9, 2003) at 3:35 p.m. at St. Clara's
Manor.
A memorial Mass at Holy Family Church in Lincoln
was on Tuesday morning, with the Rev. Thomas
Taylor officiating. Visitation preceded the service.
Inurnment was Wednesday
morning at Tuscola Cemetery, Tuscola, with the Rev. Al Kemme officiating.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of
Lincoln was in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dumas retired as owner and
operator of First Packaged Liquors in Tuscola and was formerly a
court reporter and retailer in Fowler, Ind.
She was born Jan. 26, 1916, in Benton
County, Ind., to John Louis and Rosa Caroline Graf Korbe. She
married Donald N. Dumas on April 17, 1944, in Sacred Heart Church,
Fowler, Ind.
Survivors are her husband, at St.
Clara's Manor in Lincoln; four daughters, Deborah Dumas (and Paul)
Short of Lincoln, Julie Dumas (and Richard) Griffith of St. Louis,
Mo., Stephanie Dumas of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Annette Dumas Gettleman
of Lincoln.; two grandchildren, Patrick Gettleman (and Stephanie
Turley) of Lincoln and Elizabeth Short of Chicago; and one sister,
Isabel Bower of Fowler, Ind.
She was preceded in death by five
brothers and two sisters.
She was a member of Holy Family Church
of Lincoln, the Altar and Rosary Society of the church, and the
American Business Women's Association.
She organized Brownie day camps in
Tuscola.
Memorials
may be made to American Heart Association, Lincoln Public Library or
St. Clara's Manor.

Randy Allen
Randy Allen, 41, of San Jose died
Monday (Oct. 13, 2003) at 12:05 p.m. as a result of an automobile
accident at Route 47 and Livingston County Road 2400 N.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m.
Wednesday at San Jose United Methodist Church. His funeral will be
at 11 a.m. Thursday at the church, with the Rev. John Hamilton
officiating.
Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery,
rural San Jose.
Mr. Allen was a truck driver for Dixie
Transportation in McLean County for 25 years.
He was born Aug. 9, 1962, in Lincoln to
Calvin and Doris Sutton Allen. He married Denise Hammel on May 16,
1998, in San Jose. She survives.
Other survivors are his father, of San
Jose; three daughters, Erin Jo and Rachelle Lee Allen at home in San
Jose and Jamie Marie Severtson, a stepdaughter in Peoria; three
brothers, Gene (and Sandy) Allen of Clinton, Bernie Allen of
Clarksville, Tenn., and Ted Allen of Lincoln; four sisters, Alberta
(and Dean) Hunter of Lincoln, Marsha (and Dennis) O'Donoghue of
Lincoln, Pam (and Tom) Cook of Hopedale and Gloria (and Rick)
Shaffer of McLean.
He was preceded in death by his mother
and one brother, George Allen.
He was a former member of the San Jose
Fire Department.
Memorial

Alma Sullivan Baptist
Alma Sullivan Baptist, 88, of Lincoln died Saturday (Oct. 11, 2003)
at 1:55 a.m. at the Christian Village Nursing Home.
Her
funeral was Wednesday morning at Holland and Barry Funeral Home, with the
Rev. Jame Hahs officiating. Visitation was on Tuesday at the funeral
home.
Burial is in McLean Cemetery.
Mrs. Baptist had taught in elementary schools in Sangamon and Logan
counties for 33 years. She was one of the original staff members at
Chester-East Lincoln School.
She
was born Feb. 20, 1915, at Delavan to Amos D. and Hattie Burrows
Boullion. She married Floyd M. Sullivan on July 8, 1943, in Lincoln,
and he died Jan. 4, 1980. She married Orville M. Baptist on Oct. 18,
1986, in Lincoln, and he died April 14, 1987.
Survivors are one son, David Sullivan of Glen Ellyn; two stepsons,
Robert Sullivan of Lincoln and John D. Baptist of Springfield; one
stepdaughter, Doris Bartmann of Lincoln; eight grandchildren;
several great-grandchildren; and a niece, Mrs. George (Eva M.) Dahmm
of Lincoln.
She
was also preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Arthur
Boullion, and one sister, Irene Hunter. She was the last of her
immediate family.
She
was a member of First United Methodist Church of Lincoln, where she
taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the
ALMH Auxiliary, Logan and DeWitt County Retired Teachers
Association, and several Lincoln card clubs.
She
attended Lincoln College and Illinois State University in Normal.
