Cecil Boyd

Cecil L. Boyd, 75, of Lincoln died Sunday (Sept. 7, 2003) at 11:27 a.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with Tom Gerdts officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mr. Boyd retired from Lehn and Fink on 1994. He had worked as a painter in the maintenance department.

He was born Sept. 6, 1928, at Ewing to Noah and Katie Miller Boyd. He married Betty Ann Baker in Chestnut on June 6, 1948.

Survivors are his wife, of Lincoln; one son, Thomas (and Susan) Boyd of Lincoln; two daughters, Barbara (and Mark) Seggelke of Lincoln and Cheryl Boyd of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, John Boyd of Lincoln; and one sister, Mildred “Midge” Brown of Lincoln.

He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, where he was a Sunday school teacher and member of the Jolly Seniors and the Beacon class. He was also a member of Logan County Men’s Christian Fellowship and Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary. He was an assistant scoutmaster.

Memorials may be made to Jolly Seniors of Lincoln Christian Church.
