Maxine Walden

Maxine M. Walden, 67, of Lincoln died Wednesday (Sept. 17, 2003) at 6 a.m. at her home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader, with the Rev. Jame Hahs officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Walden was a clerical worker for Logan County Title Company.

Lois Swaar

Lois B. Swaar, 95, of Mason City died Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2003) at 10:35 a.m. at Mason City Area Nursing Home.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City.

Her funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Mason City United Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Randall Paine officiating.

Mrs. Swaar was a homemaker, and she taught school for several years.

She was born Sept. 28, 1907, in Mason County to Joseph and Bertha Hurley Fink. She married Lloyd Swaar on Dec. 25, 1930, in Mason City. He died May 12, 1992.

Survivors are two sons, Don (and Margaret) Swaar of Mason City and Joe (and Helen) Swaar of Mason City; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

She was a member of Mason City United Presbyterian Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher and pianist for the Missionary Society. She was also a member of Euterpians and a 50-year member of the Woman's Club.

She attended Lincoln College.

Ruth Lenardt

Ruth Loraine Lenardt, 70, of Lincoln died Sunday (Sept. 14, 2003) at 2:45 p.m. at Maple Ridge Health Care Centre.

Miss Lenardt was cremated.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Cemetery, Lincoln. The Rev. Richard Reinwald will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Lenardt was a resident of Lincoln Developmental Center for 56 years.

She was born April 15, 1933, in Decatur to Adam W. and Elfrieda Niehaus Lenardt.

Survivors are one brother, Fred Lenardt of Lincoln; one sister, Anita Johnson of Lincoln; four nieces; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois.

Nelda Presswood

Nelda Mae Presswood, 61, of Lincoln died Friday (Sept. 12, 2003) at 7:15 p.m. at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.

Visitation was on Tuesday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Her funeral was Wednesday morning at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan and David Pendley, director of Christian education, officiating.

Burial is in Harmony Cemetery, Beason.

Mrs. Presswood retired in 2001 from St. Gobain Containers, where she worked in quality control.

She was born Aug. 4, 1942, at Goodwater, Mo., to Homer M. and Lola Crocker. She married Robert J. Presswood on Aug. 20, 1988, at Clinton.

Survivors are her husband, of Lincoln; four sons, James (and Carol) Canady of Wilson, N.C., Danny Canady of Broadwell, Tim (and Libby) Canady of Lincoln and Matthew J. (and Jenny) Presswood of Atlanta; one daughter, Julie Ann (and Dan) Benedict of Crestview, Fla.; nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Lois Pinkley of St. Louis, Mo., Nellie Longgrear of Caledonia, Mo., and Betty Parton of Arcadia, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, Glass Bottle Blowers Local 117 and the International Glass Bottle Blowers Association.

Memorials may be made to youth ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Florence Pfeifer

Florence L. Pfeifer of Lincoln died Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2003) at 4:05 p.m. at St. John's Hospice, Springfield.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Lincoln Christian Church, with Tom Gerdts officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Pfeifer was a homemaker and farmer.

Ethel Lovelace

Ethel M. Lovelace, 93, of Taylorville, formerly of Mount Pulaski, Cornland and Rochester, died Tuesday (Sept. 16, 2003) at 3:55 p.m. at Taylorville Care Center.

Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski, with Bill Shanle and John Robertson officiating. Visitation will be one hour before the service.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mrs. Lovelace was a homemaker. She was also a janitor at the Farmers Bank in Mount Pulaski, worked for Fraiser's Restaurant in Mount Pulaski and was employed at Lincoln Developmental Center.

Mabel Hassebrock

Mabel Hassebrock, 88, of Lincoln died Monday (Sept. 15, 2003) at 10:30 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

Her funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating.

Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.

Mrs. Hassebrock was a homemaker.

She was born Nov. 9, 1914, at Strasburg to Charles F. and Esther Doehring Ruwe. She married John W. Hassebrock Jr. on Jan. 25, 1942, in Lincoln.

Survivors are her husband; four sons, Eugene (and Marsha) Hassebrock of Lincoln, Alfred (and Doretta) Hassebrock of Kenney, Edward (and Wanda) Hassebrock of Lincoln and Edwin (and Nancy) Hassebrock of Armington; one daughter, Lorraine (and Ken) Wilmert of Bloomington; 11 grandchildren and seven stepgrandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and 21 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Bernice Maxheimer, and was the last of her immediate family.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of Lincoln and the Railsplitter Antique Car Club.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Zion Lutheran School.
