[APRIL 18, 2005]  EAST PEORIA -- Lincoln College was unable to hold two late-inning leads as the Lynx dropped a 16-15 decision to Illinois Central College here Sunday afternoon. The same two teams will hook up at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Lincoln.

Illinois Central scored eight times in the seventh, eighth and ninth innings to send the game into extra innings. After Lincoln scored five runs in the top of the 11th inning, ICC came right back with six runs to win the game.

Jarad Otloe suffered the loss, going 1 2/3 innings, allowing eight hits and six runs with one walk. Colton McClellan was the hurler when ICC scored four times in the bottom of the ninth to send the game to extra innings. Ryan Driskill pitched the first seven innings, giving up seven hits and one earned run with four walks and three strikeouts.

Lincoln College had 17 hits, with Tyler Casson leading the way with three safeties, two runs scored and two RBIs. Jake Jones, Bryant Wright, Brian Rynearson, Alex Brown and Nick Meredith each had two hits. Rynearson had a home run, a triple, four runs scored and three RBIs.

In a game played Saturday against Springfield College, Lincoln was a 6-4 loser. Matt Miller suffered the loss, allowing nine hits in 5 1/3 innings, with four earned runs, four walks and three strikeouts. Adam York and Meredith each had a pair of hits for the Lynx, now 13-17 on the season.
