LINCOLN -- Billie Lee Smith, 80, of Lincoln died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at 5:10 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

His funeral will be at 4 p.m. Saturday at Peasley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Julie Azbell officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, rural Beason

Mr. Smith was a carpenter for 60 years in the Lincoln area.

He was born June 9, 1925, the son of Earl Wright and Nancy Annie Jones Smith. He married Lois Wanda Menzel on April 1, 1945, at the United Methodist Church of Beason. She died July 25, 2005, in Lincoln.

He is survived by his two daughters, Jan R. (and Steven) Montgomery of Lincoln and Mary J. (and Robert) Humbert of Lincoln; four grandchildren, Justin Montgomery, Tomika Humbert, Adam Humbert and Dusty Montgomery; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Montgomery and Breydon Humbert; and two sisters, Laura Alice Schilling of Lincoln and MayNell Lowery of Decatur.

He was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Art Smith and Earl Smith.

He was a member of the Beason United Methodist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Elks Crippled Children Clinic.

LINCOLN -- Dorothy A. Sollars, 95, of Lincoln died Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at 2:35 a.m. at St. Clara's Manor at Lincoln.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Peasley Funeral Home, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mrs. Sollars worked at Stetson China Company and later at Lincoln Developmental Center.

She was born March 12, 1910, in Lincoln to Andrew and Frances Adame Krusz. She married Thomas W. Sollars on Oct. 7, 1933. He died Jan. 13, 2001.

She is survived by one sister, Mildred Broughton of Mount Pulaski, and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, and memorials may be made to the church.

Norma Sullivan

LINCOLN -- Norma Jean Sullivan, 72, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at 9:46 p.m. at the Christian Village in Lincoln.

Her funeral was on Saturday morning at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Tom Gerdts officiating. Visitation preceded the service.

Burial is in New Union Cemetery.

Miss Sullivan was a former teacher in the Lincoln schools, a former DeWitt County assistant superintendent of schools, and she retired as principal of Froberg Elementary School in the Rockford public school system.

She was born Aug. 22, 1932, in Lincoln to David W. and Verna Kurtz Sullivan.

She is survived by several cousins, including area residents Joan Westen of Lincoln and Phyllis Purlee of Lawndale.

She was preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.

She was a member of Lincoln Christian Church, Northeast Christian Church in Rockford, Illinois Education Association, Illinois Principals Association, a life member of the National Education Association, a member of the Lincoln Christian College Alumni Association and Delta Kappa Gamma.

She graduated from Lincoln Community High School and Lincoln Christian College and received her master's degree from Hays State University in Hays, Kan.

Memorials may be made to the Christian Village of Lincoln or to Lincoln Christian College and Seminary.

LINCOLN -- Christine Mungle, 81, of Gaffney, S.C., formerly of Lincoln, died Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, at Upstate Carolina Hospital in Gaffney.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Peasley Funeral Home at Lincoln, with the Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating. Visitation will be from noon until the service time.

Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.

Miss Mungle had been employed at Kerrigan Funeral Home, beginning in 1948. She retired June 30, 2002.

She was born Oct. 13, 1923, in Elgin to William and Lena May Mungle.

She never married nor bore children. She did, however, have and is survived by four children and seven grandchildren of the heart: Dr. Patricia (and Clint) Bunke of Marco Island, Fla., Dennis (and Jonna) Kerrigan of Northbrook, Kevin (and Linda) Kerrigan of Burr Ridge, Mara (and Jeff) Richardson of Gaffney, S.C., Bridget Dearborn of Brooklyn, N.Y., J.R. Kerrigan of Northbrook, Shannon Howell of Woodbridge, Va., Kristopher Kerrigan of Burr Ridge, Patrick Kerrigan of Round Lake, and Adam and Drew Richardson of Gaffney, S.C.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters and was the last surviving member of the Mungle family.

She was a Lincoln Swish Sisters Centennial Celebration member.
