EMDEN -- Cleo Reiner Reiners, 87, of Emden died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at 4 p.m. at Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.

His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Lutheran Church, with the Rev. David Hofer officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour before the service on Thursday.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Hartsburg Union Cemetery, rural Hartsburg.

Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln.

Mr. Reiners was a retired farmer and Orvil Township road commissioner.

He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

He was born April 25, 1918, at Emden to Edward and Etta Zimmer Reiners. He married Ruth Culleton on Feb. 8, 1950, in Lincoln. She died Nov. 9, 2004.

He is survived by four sons, R. Owen (and Dawn) Reiners of Emden, Carl (and Lori) Reiners of Thorp, Wash., Dick (and Lorie) Reiners of Emden and Lee (and Angela) Reiners of Emden; four daughters, Diane Walsh of Thorp, Wash., Becky (and Rick) Adams of Indianapolis, Ind., Betty Jo (and Brad) Lessen of Emden and Carrie (and Nick) Nowatney of Honolulu, Hawaii; 30 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one sister, Luann Arnold of Emden.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Thomas Reiners.

He was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church of Emden and Emden Legion Post 506.

Memorials may be made to St. Peter Lutheran Church or Emden Fire and Rescue.

Marlene Dierker          Send a link to a friend

CHESTNUT -- Marlene Demlo Dierker, 74, of Chestnut died Monday, Aug. 22, 2005, at 11:18 a.m. at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A graveside funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Laenna Cemetery. The Rev. Joel Dietrich will officiate.

There will be no visitation.

Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home of Mount Pulaski is handling arrangements.

Mrs. Dierker was a homemaker.

She was born June 26, 1931, in Decatur to Herbert and Grace Hil Demlo. She married Kenneth Dierker on Feb. 5, 1950, in Decatur.

She is survived by her husband, of Chestnut; one daughter, Debbie (and Dan) Aughenbaugh of Decatur; two sons, Donald Dierker of Sandersville, Ga., and Danny (and Teresa) Dierker of Chestnut; 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Chestnut.

Memorials may be made to her church or to Heartland Community Church in Decatur.
