CHICAGO -- The Illinois Arts
Council is now accepting applications from artists and performing
arts companies for inclusion in the 2006-2008 Arts-in-Education
Residency Program Artists Roster. The application deadline is Jan.

The residency program provides support
to Illinois not-for-profit organizations for professional artist
residencies lasting from two weeks to six months. For this program,
organizations must select an artist from the program's roster.
Artists can increase their visibility to Illinois not-for-profit
organizations and expand their opportunities to work as an
artist-in-residence by applying to be part of the roster.
Professional artists in the disciplines
of creative writing, dance, interdisciplinary arts, media, music or
theater, and visual arts and performing arts companies in the
disciplines of dance, music, theater or interdisciplinary arts are
eligible to apply to be part of the roster.
Artists must be available for
residencies between Oct.1, 2006, and Aug. 31, 2008, and may not be
enrolled in a degree-seeking or certificate-granting program of any
kind during that period.
Not-for-profit status is not a
requirement for this program.
