Sewing group The July sewing day for baby quilts will be July 18, beginning at 8:30 a.m. Jackie Johnson will be visiting the church that day, and there will be a salad potluck at 11:30 a.m. After lunch, Jackie will talk about her work and ministry in Bangladesh. All ladies of the church and community are welcome to attend for part or all of the day, and just bring a salad if you can come for lunch. On July 10 at 6 p.m., Kathleen Moldenhauer will talk about her involvement with Intervarsity on the campus of Millikin University in Decatur. She will discuss ways to continue growing in Christ while away at college. * * * The big summer event this year will be a mission trip and Six Flags outing Aug. 8-9. So far, 12 youth have signed up. If you are interested in going, please contact the church office at (217) 376-3137 or John Cross at (217) 376-3396. The group will leave from the church at 8:30 a.m. Aug. 8 and return late at night on Aug. 9. The first afternoon, participants will work at a food pantry and thrift store. The group will stay at the Maryville Lutheran Church overnight and go to Six Flags on Tuesday. The cost will be kept to a minimum: $20 per person plus meals. Community worship service [JULY 6, 2005] EMDEN -- St. Peter Lutheran Church and Emden Christian Church are having a community worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, July 10, on the west side of St. Peter Lutheran Church. The offering will go to Central Illinois Economic Development Corporation Community Action. Bring your lawn chair.
