The Oasis, Logan
County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open
weekdays (except holidays) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also
is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is
the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County
senior citizens, regardless of membership.
Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Maple
Ridge to sponsor "light lunch" bingo
Maple Ridge will sponsor a light
lunch consisting of sandwiches and treats, beginning at noon, with
the bingo games following at 1 p.m. on Thursday at The Oasis. Bring
a friend and come join us for lunch and a lot of fun!
Need help
with insurance forms?
The Oasis and the Senior Health
Insurance Program sponsor assistance for seniors with their
insurance forms. The volunteers are trained by the Department of
Insurance to guide you through problems involving Medicare, Medicare
supplement, long-term care insurance, retiree health plans, claims
processing and appealing denied claims. Appointments are scheduled
each Thursday afternoon.
Internet
computer class
The Oasis will offer an Internet and
e-mail class March 8-11 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Seating is limited,
so make your reservations early.

Meeters
and Greeters
The Meeters and Greeters group will
meet on Monday at 2 p.m. This group of volunteers makes visits once
a month to people who cannot get out, adding a bright spot in their
life. The volunteers always bring a small gift to share during their
visit.
Tuesday
lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch on March 8 will
feature chicken salad sandwiches, potato chips, pickles, dessert and
drink for only $3.75, or $3.25 if you stay and play. The ticket
purchase deadline is noon Monday.
Card
winners announced
Christine March was the weekday
winner for pinochle. Weekend pinochle winners were Wilbur Wilmert
and Helen Opperman. Winners at five-in-one were Dorothy Oltmanns and
Betty Burger.
