MOUNT PULASKI -- Jean M. Matthews, 84, of Mount Pulaski, died Thursday, May 12, 2005, at 9:15 a.m. at her home.

Private services at a later date will be conducted by Jack Gasaway, a friend of the family.

Burial will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery, Riverton.

Mrs. Matthews was a nurse anesthetist.

She was born Aug. 26, 1920, in Melbourne, Australia, to Mr. and Mrs. James Ogden. She married William Joseph Matthews in St. Louis, Mo., in September of 1961.

She is survived by her husband, Joe Matthews of Mount Pulaski; one brother, Robert Ogden of Melbourne, Australia; and one sister, Maria Comino of Melbourne, Australia.

One sister, Millicent, preceded her in death.

She was a member of Latham Methodist Church and the Nurse Anesthetist Association of Chicago.
