[MAY 20, 2005]  Lincoln Public Library District's summer reading program begins with registration May 31-June 4 in the Youth Services Department in the library annex. Book logs will be counted starting June 6.

During registration, participants will receive a summer reading log, set their reading goals to earn their shirt, have their picture taken in the "Superheroes: Powered by Books" display, see prizes they may earn, as well as enter registration contests. A Harry Potter event is scheduled for June 2, and advance registration is required.

Children and parents may also obtain information about registering for "Visiting Artists" classes, Thursday events, story times, "Lapsit" and other summer activities.

An awards program on July 28 will wrap up the summer, with the announcement of grand prize winners, shirt distribution and area school goal accomplishments.
