knocked out of tournament in heartbreaker

The Lincoln Christian College Angels were
knocked out of the NCCAA Division II National Championship when they
lost a heartbreaker to Crown College in a five-game match Friday.
After winning the first game 32-30, the Angels dropped the next two
games 25-30 and 19-30 before rallying for a fourth-game win at
30-24. Crown College prevailed in the fifth game by 15-13.

The win put Crown College into the semifinals on Saturday with a 3-1
record to challenge Baptist Bible College of Pennsylvania, which
also emerged from pool play with a 3-1 record. Earlier in the day,
Lincoln Christian College defeated Manhattan (Kan.) Christian
College in a four-game match 30-25, 26-30, 30-20, 30-22.
The Angels completed their season with a 23-15 record.
The second semifinal on Saturday pitted Clearwater Christian
College, 4-0, against Grace University, 3-1.
After the semifinals there was an all-star exhibition at 1 p.m.,
followed by the championship match at 3:30 p.m. [See
