LINCOLN -- Wilma C. Wright, 72, of Lincoln died at Thursday,
Oct. 6, 2005, at 9 a.m. at her home.
A service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Craig
Smith officiating. There is no visitation.
Burial of cremains will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Cerro
Gordo Cemetery, Cerro Gordo.
Mrs. Wright was a clerk's assistant for the Lincoln city
clerk and the sewerage department. She retired in 1994.
She was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Decatur to Guy M. and Vada
Henricks Davidson. She married Ovid W. Wright on June 3,
1951, at Cerro Gordo.
She is survived by her husband of Lincoln; two sons, Todd
(and Leslie) Wright of Denton, Texas, and Lonn (and Barbara)
Wright of The Colony, Texas; one daughter, Lisa (and Jay)
Akers of Elkhart; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and
one brother and was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of Jefferson Street Christian Church,
Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and American
Legion Post 263 Auxiliary.
Memorials may be made to the Ronald McDonald House or
Hospice Care of Illinois.

ATLANTA -- Roma Ballinger, 77, of rural Atlanta died
Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at 6:25 a.m. at Abraham Lincoln
Memorial Hospital in Lincoln.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Quiram
Funeral Home.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Atlanta
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anderson
officiating.
Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Mrs. Ballinger was homemaker.
She was born Aug. 7, 1928, at New Holland to Herman and
Louise Dahm Bauer. She married Charles W. Ballinger on May
28, 1949, at Lincoln. He survives.
Other survivors are three daughters, Roma (and Richard)
Evans of Lockport, Marcia (and Robert) Pipp of Atlanta and
Charlise (and Greg) Morgan of Holly Springs, N.C.; one son,
Charles (and Judy) Ballinger of Atlanta; seven
grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church
and the United Methodist Women.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
Kenneth Ely

LINCOLN -- Kenneth E. Ely, 75, died Wednesday, Oct. 5,
2005, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Clara's Manor in Lincoln.
His funeral was at 11 a.m. Saturday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with Dan
Wagner officiating. Visitation preceded the service.
Burial is in Zion Cemetery.
Mr. Ely farmed for 41 years in West Lincoln, Aetna and
Broadwell townships before retiring in 1995. He was also a
retired rural mail carrier.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.
He was born Oct. 17, 1929, in Broadwell to Raymond and
Bertha Gandy Ely. He married Marlene Cook on Feb. 21, 1954,
in Broadwell.
He is survived by his wife of Lincoln; four sons, Kenneth
R. Ely of Murphysboro, Greg (and Krista) Ely of Elkhart,
Randy (and Gwen) Ely of Lincoln and Mitch (and Aletha) Ely
of Bloomington; one daughter, Beth (and Kurt) Bushnell of
Auburn; one brother, Don (and Judy) Ely of Cleveland, Tenn.;
one sister, Alma (and Bob) Dunham of Lincoln; 11
granddaughters; two grandsons; and three
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Brian
Ely; one brother and three sisters; and one daughter-in-law,
Tara Ely.
He was a member of Broadwell Christian Church, where he
was a Sunday school teacher and elder.
Memorials may be made to his church or to St. Clara's
Manor.
