MOUNT PULASKI -- John Borowicz, 85, of Mount Pulaski died
Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, at 5:15 a.m. at Vonderlieth Living
Center.
A memorial service will be scheduled later.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Mr. Borowicz was a laborer at Mount Pulaski Products.
He was born April 5, 1920.
He is survived by special friends Jim Boy and Judy Coogan of
Mount Pulaski, Dave Collins of Lincoln, Eugene Collins of
Mount Pulaski, Jeannie Morrow of Holly Pond, Ark., and staff
and residents at Vonderlieth Living Center.
He was of the Catholic faith.

ATLANTA -- Helen Miller Smith, 83, of Atlanta died Tuesday,
Oct. 25, 2005, at 3:05 a.m. at Hopedale Nursing Home,
Hopedale.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Atlanta
United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Anderson
officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at
the Smith residence, 200 S.W. Fourth St., and at the church
one hour prior to the service on Friday.
Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Quiram Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Mrs. Smith taught in the Olympia School District for 17
years.
She was born Feb. 8, 1922, at Atlanta to Claude I. and
Hazel Hoose Miller. She married Herbert W. Smith on Sept.
14, 1941, at Atlanta. He died Feb. 5, 1962.
She is survived by one daughter, Kathy (and Gary)
Gemberling of Atlanta; two sons, Dennis (and Sandy) Smith of
Atlanta and Barry (and Jenny) Smith of Carson City, Nev.;
six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James C.
Smith; three brothers; and one granddaughter.
She was a member of the Atlanta United Methodist Church,
United Methodist Women and Goodwill Builders. She was a
former member of the A-Team, Atlanta Library Board, Atlanta
Cemetery Association and the Word Weavers in Bloomington.
She was a graduate of Illinois State University, Normal.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Atlanta United
Methodist Church, A-Team, Atlanta Library and Museum, or
Harbor Light Hospice.
Mary Sprunger

LINCOLN -- Mary Anna Sprunger, 83, Lincoln, formerly of
Elkhart, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at 12:45 p.m. at her
home.
Mrs. Sprunger donated her body to medical science.
A memorial service will be scheduled later.
Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery, Elkhart.
Arrangements are being handled by Fricke-Calvert-Schrader
Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.
Mrs. Sprunger taught for 20 years in Glenview and St.
Charles.
She was born July 20, 1922, Warren County, Iowa, to
George Louis and Louisa Fletcher Snuggs. She married the
Rev. Virgil L. Sprunger on June 10, 1944, at Berne, Ind.
She is survived by her husband, of Lincoln; one daughter,
Linda Jeanne (and Gerald) Tilghman of St. Cloud, Fla.; one
brother, Howard Glen Snuggs of Colorado Springs, Colo.,
three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three brothers and two
sisters.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Elgin
and also attended Elkhart Christian Church.
Memorials may be made to Elkhart Christian Church.
