[SEPT. 26, 2005]  NORMAL -- Stanford Olympia won the IESA Class AA championship in softball this weekend, and Lincoln Junior High School placed fourth in the state tournament at Champion Fields. Olympia finished the season with a 26-2 record and Lincoln ended at 19-8.

In their first-round games, Olympia defeated Bloomington Junior High School 3-2 and Lincoln defeated Momence 11-1.

In the semifinals, Olympia defeated Minooka 10-0 and Lincoln lost to Mattoon 14-2.
