He was an active member of the First Presbyterian
Church in Lincoln
Mel was a good and gentle man. He was a big man
who forever remained a big, fun-loving kid. With his
raspy laugh, a twinkle in his eye and a willingness
to bend the rules, he told every child, dog and
person that he met that he was a special friend. He
was a man of few words, but his life and devotion to
his family and friends spoke volumes. Mel does not
leave this life in silence, but with an unending
echo that will remain in the hearts of all who knew
and loved him.
Memorial donations may be made to the First
Presbyterian Church or to Lincoln Public Library.
