Mrs. Hudson retired from the Illinois secretary of
state's office in Springfield, where she worked as a
data input operator. She was born May 8, 1937, in
Lincoln to Gilbert and Florence Dugan Shaw. She
married Virgil Hudson in Waynesville in 1956, and he
preceded her in death. In 1985 she married Raymond
Bendict in Lincoln. They were divorced.
She is survived by one son, David (and Sheryl)
Hudson of Lincoln; one daughter, Debra (and David)
Patterson List of Seymour, Tenn.; one brother,
Richard (and Rene) Shaw of St. Petersburg, Fla.; one
sister, Nancy "Tippy" Rogers of Lincoln; six
grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and
one brother, John D. Shaw.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of
Lincoln and past chaplain of Eagles Auxiliary.
She was an avid Jeff Gordon racing fan.
