It marked the fifth straight year in which a Redbird was tabbed for
the AP All-America squad and the fourth straight season with a
first-team selection. The honor is the second first-team
all-America accolade for Siskowic, a finalist for the 2006 Buck
Buchanan Award. He was named to the Walter Camp All-America Team
last week. The 2006 Gateway Football Conference Defensive Player of
the Year led the league in tackles for a second straight season. The
San Diego, Calif., native finished with 154 tackles, including 75
solo stops. He also finished his final Redbird season with five
tackles for loss, two quarterback sacks and two interceptions, while
forcing three fumbles.
Rembert set the Illinois State standard for rushing yards in a
season with 1,743 yards on the ground. He also added 17 touchdowns
on the season, with 16 of those off rush attempts. Rembert added
another school record with 355 carries on the season, while
averaging 4.9 yards per attempt and 134.1 yards per game.
