As Valentine's Day provides people a chance to remember the people
they love, Central Illinois Community Blood Center believes it's an
appropriate time to remember to donate blood for your friends,
neighbors and family. It's the blood on the shelf that saves lives.
Please don't wait until someone you love needs blood. It takes 24-48
hours to process blood, and that might be too long for the person
you love.
Central Illinois Community Blood Center provides the blood used
for patient care for 20 hospitals in central and southern Illinois.
During the winter months blood inventories can be at critically low
levels. Adverse weather conditions and the cold-flu season have a
serious impact on the donor population. If you have the opportunity
to donate blood at any Central Illinois Community Blood Center
during the winter months, please do.
