To the editor: I would love to have an owner of a gas station
currently in business explain to me the events of just the past week
at least.
Last Wednesday night to Thursday morning (Dec. 28-29), gas was
down to $2.09/gallon. Thursday night to Friday morning, it went up
to $2.24. Fifteen cents in ONE NIGHT!
Earlier this week, it was down to $2.22/gallon. Then yesterday,
Jan. 4, as I was driving through town at 2 p.m., gas was up to
$2.39/gallon.
Now, this morning [written Thursday], it's back down to $2.22. I
just don't get it. How in the world can gas prices go up and down so
much in such a small span of time? I haven't seen ANYTHING on the
news that would cause such a jump in prices. If it (whatever "it"
was) was enough to cause the jump, then why did prices go back down
so much in less than 24 hours?

I sure wish there was some type of investigation into the Lincoln
gas stations and the obvious price gouging.
Again, I would love to hear from someone currently in the
business that is making these price decisions and find out why, as
I'm sure most of the city of Lincoln would like to know also.
