HARTSBURG -- Kiya Renee Hassebrock, 5, of Hartsburg died
Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at 9:10 a.m. at St. Louis
Children's Hospital.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the
Rev. Mark Carnahan officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader and one hour prior to the service on
Wednesday.
Burial will be in New Union Cemetery, Lincoln.
Kiya attended an early childhood program at Jefferson
School in Lincoln.
She was born Sept. 22, 2000, in Lincoln to Michael and
Andrea Smith Hassebrock.
She is survived by her father, of Lincoln; her mother, of
Hartsburg; one sister, Nicole Fenner of Hartsburg; one
brother, Jaxon Hassebrock of Hartsburg; maternal
grandparents Patsy Sheese of New Boston and Kenny and Pat
Smith of Lampe, Mo.; paternal grandparents Edward and Wanda
Hassebrock of Lincoln; maternal great-grandmother Donna
Lakin of Brownstown; and paternal great-grandfather John
Hassebrock of Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by maternal great-grandparents
Ben and Zelma Smith, Mary "Doodle" and James Anderson, Ben
and Zelma Smith, and Curt Lakin; and by paternal
great-grandparents Mabel Hassebrock and Frank and Betty
Short.
She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln.

Donald Meredith

LINCOLN -- Donald Eugene Meredith, 72, of Lincoln died
Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at 2:30 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care
Centre.
His funeral was Saturday morning at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln, with the Rev. Julie Azbell officiating.
Visitation preceded the service.
Burial was in New Union Cemetery, with military rites.
Mr. Meredith was a salesman for Root Candle Co., Lubbock,
Texas.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was born Nov. 26, 1933, in Lincoln to Gordon Harrison
and Norma Louise Donnan Meredith
He is survived by one daughter, Ann Meredith of Lincoln,
and three grandchildren, Bryant Watkins, Heather McCarty and
Faith McCarty.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of
Lincoln and American Legion Post 263.
Memorials may be made to American Legion Post 263 or the
American Stroke Association.

MOUNT PULASKI -- Neil Pope, 53, of Madison, Wis.,
formerly of Mount Pulaski, died Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2006, at
his home.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Latham
United Methodist Church, Latham.
There will be no visitation.
He was born March 12, 1952, to Frank and Lucille Wachter
Pope.
He is survived by his father and his stepmother, Mary
Pope, of Mount Pulaski; one brother, Nolan Pope of Madison,
Wis.; one stepbrother, Jack Gasaway of Mount Pulaski; and
two stepsisters, Mary Ann Radtke and Jean Davis, both of
Mount Pulaski.
He was preceded in death by his mother.
Memorials may be made to the Latham United Methodist
Church.

Juanita Farmer

PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. -- Juanita B. Farmer, 88, of Port
Charlotte died on Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2006, at HQM Nursing
Home.
There will be a memorial service in Lincoln at a later
date.
Mrs. Farmer was a homemaker.
She was born Feb. 27, 1917, in Logan County to Otto P.
and Eva Vickery Bateman. She married Paul Paulsen on Oct.
16, 1935; he died in 1939. She married Russell G. Farmer on
May 12, 1942; he died May 12, 1967.
She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Buckles of
Port Charlotte and Darla Cheatham of Punta Gorda, Fla.; two
sons, Robert Farmer and Larry Farmer, both of Middletown,
Ill.; two sisters, Helen Heins and Thelma Gilbert, both of
Port Charlotte; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-grandchildren.
Besides her husbands, she was preceded in death by a son
from her first marriage, Kenneth Paulsen; a stepson she
considered a son, Russell Farmer; two grandchildren; and a
great-grandchild.
She was a member of the Lucas Chapel Club, the Home
Bureau of Lincoln and the Truth Seekers Sunday school class
of the First Christian Church of Port Charlotte.
