Doris Hoepfner

[JUNE 30, 2006]  Doris Hoepfner, 83, of Lincoln died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at 12:56 a.m. at Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carroll Richards officiating.

Burial will be in Union Cemetery.

Mrs. Hoepfner retired in 1983 as head of the dietary department at St. Clara's Manor.

She was born Aug. 15, 1922, in Mount Vernon to Charles and Mabel Taylor Williamson. She married George A. Hoepfner on May 28, 1940, in Bowling Green, Mo. He died May 27, 2000.

She is survived by four daughters, Janice (and Thomas) Loeffelholz of Lincoln, Nancy (and Ronald) Miller of Mahomet, Alice (and Sam) Madonia of Springfield and Mary (and James) Bushnell of Salisbury; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Elmo and Charles.

She was a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Lincoln.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Alzheimer's research at SIU School of Medicine or to the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
