ATLANTA -- Audrey L. Walters, 83, of
rural Atlanta died Monday, July 10, 2006, at 11:05 a.m. at Maple
Ridge Care Centre in Lincoln.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Bethel
Cemetery, rural Emden, with the Rev. John Horner
officiating. |
No visitation is scheduled. Peasley Funeral Home
in Lincoln is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Walters had worked at the Ranch House
Restaurant in Bloomington.
She was born Aug. 29, 1922, in rural Logan County to Lewis N.
and Erma M. Reinhart Baker. She married Myron E.
Walters on Aug. 31, 1940. He died July 18, 1993.
She is survived by her children, William R. (and
Sharon) Walters of Minier, Randy L. Walters of
Atlanta, Ada M. (and Larry) Neff of Armington and
Laura M. (and Tony) Gordon of McLean; 13
grandchildren, Rod Walters, Gregg Walters, Kevin
Neff, Klint Neff, Traci Ballenger, Angi Tucker,
Jessica Walters, Kella Allspach, Kristi Carmichael,
Katie Jo Walters, Gabe Gordon, Shadd Gordon and Kody
Gordon; and 22 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter,
Roberta K. Walters, on June 9, 1993; one son, Gerald
E. Walters, on June 30, 1998; and one granddaughter,
Kelly L. McDannald, on Feb. 26, 2006.
She was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church in
Minier and a Gold Star member of the Armington
Legion Auxiliary.
She received the Kate Smith Award for
Distinguished Personal Heroism on Nov. 12, 1936.
Memorials may be made to the Armington Fire
Rescue Department.
