Visitation will
be from 5 until 7 p.m. Tuesday at Peasley Funeral
Home. Prior to visitation, the rosary service will
be recited at 4:45 p.m. A funeral Mass for Mr.
Hegele will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Holy Family
Church, with the Rev. Thomas Taylor officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Mr. Hegele owned Hegele Brothers Dairy in Lincoln
for 43 years. He retired in 1979.
He was born May 15, 1911, at Lincoln to Henry and
Mary Sigg Hegele. He married Helen Irene Miller at
St. Patrick’s Church, Elkhart, on April 20, 1938.
She died April 15, 1982, in Lincoln.
He is survived by three nieces, Evelyn
Fitzpatrick and LaDonna Mahler, both of Lincoln, and
Mary Trapp of Belleville; and three nephews, Ray
Hegele of Springfield, Paul Hegele of Chicago and
Joe Winters of California.
He was also preceded in death by three brothers
and four sisters.
He was a member of Holy Family Church and was a
third degree knight of the Knights of Columbus
Council 1250. He was also a member of the Pekin
Bottle Association.
Memorials may be made to the Holy Family Church
Building Fund or to Carroll Catholic School.
