Burial will be in Zion Cemetery. Mr. Cobb worked
40 years for Pierce Glass, where he served as
foreman and in quality control. He retired in 1987.
During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.
He was born May 24, 1924, in Jacksonville to
Frank Erwin and Goldie A. Lindsey Cobb. He married
M. Louise Emmons on Jan. 26, 1946, in Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; one son,
Leroy N. (and Pat) Cobb of Lincoln; two daughters,
Bonnie (and John) Jones of Andrew and Karen (and
Gene) Charlton of Ventnor, N.J.; two sisters,
Margaret Bryant of Athens and Ruth (and Henry) Post
of Lincoln; eight grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his
stepfather, Fred Buttell.
He was a member of Lincoln Christian Church,
AMVETS, the Illinois and national LST associations,
and the Logan County Genealogical and Historical
Society.
