LCC baseball vs. Fontbonne          Send a link to a friend

[MARCH 7, 2006]  ST. LOUIS -- The Lincoln Christian College baseball team opened its season under new head coach Joe Mollet by dropping a doubleheader Saturday to Fontbonne University in St. Louis.

The Preachers dropped the first game 11-10. LCC had rallied from an 11-7 deficit in the last inning only to have three batters strike out with the bases loaded. Dan Maricle led the Preachers with three hits and two runs batted in, while David O'Malley added two RBIs. The losing pitcher was Tyler Smith. Lincoln had 10 runs, 10 hits and three errors. Fontbonne was 11-12-3.

In the second game the Preachers came out flat and dropped a 4 1/2-inning contest 14-1. Robbie Ketcherside took the loss. Totals for LCC were 1-5-5 and for Fontbonne 14-8-0

The Preachers are 0-2 and Fontbonne 2-0.
