[NOV. 8, 2006]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Charles "Chuck" Reeves, 72, of Mount Pulaski died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2006, at 9:15 a.m. at his home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Mark Drews officiating.

Burial will be in Mount Pulaski Cemetery.

Mr. Reeves worked in maintenance at the Decatur Holiday Inn and was maintenance supervisor for General Motors Central Foundry in Danville.

He served in the U.S. Navy and Marines during the Korean War.

He was born July 29, 1934, in Lisle to Halsey J. and Goldie Marie Hamilton Reeves. He married Judy Knauer in Danville on April 12, 1980.

He is survived by his wife, of Mount Pulaski; three daughters, Denise (and Mario) Melo of Sioux City, Iowa, Kim (and Mike) Gordon of Barrington and Gayle Hoock of Mount Pulaski; one brother, Al (and Marcy) Reeves of Tavares, Fla.; and seven grandchildren, Patrick, Mario and Karla Melo of Sioux City, Iowa, Ashley and Justin Gordon of Barrington, and Marcus and Kurtis Hoock of Mount Pulaski.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He was a member of Mount Pulaski Zion Lutheran Church and the Logan County Sheriff's Auxiliary.

He was a Dallas County deputy constable in Dallas, Texas.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church or Zion Lutheran School, both in Mount Pulaski, or to the Society for Progressive Supranuclear Palsy.
