Kari McFadden of Lincoln was named as a first-team all-American and
the national player of the year in the NCCAA. Kristina Cook of
Lincoln was also named as a first-team all-American. Mindy Crawford
of Lincoln was named the national libero of the year for the second
straight year and was also named as a second-team all-American.
Sarah Nichols and Jessica Schroeder were both named as NCCAA
scholar-athletes. They earned this award by having a grade-point
average of 3.4 or better.
Featured speaker for the evening was Dr. Wayne Shaw, dean
emeritus of Lincoln Christian Seminary, who challenged the
tournament participants to emulate Jesus by thinking tall, standing
tall, living tall and shining tall.

Vern Howard of Greenville, S.C., director of member relations for
the NCCAA, was present to welcome the 10 top teams of the nation,
who will be participating in the national championship volleyball
tournament.
The
tournament is taking place at the Laughlin Center at LCC from
Thursday through Saturday. The championship game will be played at
3:30 p.m. Saturday.
