As a community we need to be able to talk openly about matters that affect the quality of our lives. The most effective and least offensive manner to get your point across is to stick to the issue and refrain from commenting on another person's opinion. Letters that deviate from focusing on the issue may be rejected or edited and marked as such.

To the editor:

CIEDC Logan County Head Start thanks the members of the community for their participation and support at the recent Head Start open houses. Together, as a community, we will work to build a stronger program for the children and families of Head Start

Logan Head Start 1 and 3 operates Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to noon or from noon to 3:30 p.m. For more information regarding the program, please call 217-732-3448.

Logan Head Start 2 operates Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. For more information regarding the program, please call 217-735-2398.

Head Start is a preschool program that provides individualized teaching; dental, vision, speech, hearing and developmental screenings; parent involvement; and nutritious snacks and meals.

CIEDC, a Community Action Agency, operates the Head Start program in DeWitt, Fulton, Logan, Mason, Menard and Piatt counties.
