Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln. The rosary
will be said at 3:15 p.m. His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Holy
Family Church, with the Rev. R. Anthony Lee
officiating.
Burial, with military rites, will be in Holy
Cross Cemetery.
Mr. Gleason farmed for 54 years in Chester and
Hurlbut townships.
He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was born July 26, 1925, in Broadwell to Thomas
Richard and Loretta Guindola Lee Gleason. He married
Dorothy Damarin on Oct. 20, 1949, in Elkhart.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; three
sons and two daughters, Joe (and Jinx) Gleason Jr.,
Bob (and Brenda) Gleason, David (and Debbie)
Gleason, Marcia (and Dennis) Schrader and Jan
Gleason, all of Lincoln; four brothers, Leo (and
Joyce) Gleason of Clawson, Mich., Walter (and Myra)
Gleason of Pekin, John (and Phyllis) Gleason of
Berkley, Mich., and Frank (and Rosamond) Gleason of
Berkley, Mich.; and 15 grandchildren, Courtney Awe,
Clint Awe, Stephanie Gleason, Jenna Gleason, Megan
Schrader, Derek Schrader, Shawn Gleason, Natalie
Gleason, Eric Gleason, Kelli Gleason, Shelbie
Gleason, Malorie Gleason, Colton Amberg, Morgan
Gleason and Seth Gleason.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pat
Gleason and Barney Gleason; two sisters, Elizabeth
Jungers and Regina Stolz; one granddaughter, Heather
Marie Gleason; and one son, Steven Gregory Gleason.
He was a member of Holy Family Church, Knights of
Columbus, American Legion Post 616, Veterans of
Foreign Wars Post 1756, 164th Infantry Association
of the U.S. and the Ancient Order of Hibernians.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care of Illinois
or Carroll Catholic School.
