Webb (1916-1982), who served the college as a professor of preaching and academic dean from 1956 to 1975 and was later named academic dean emeritus by the board of trustees. Guest lecturers of past Webb lectureships have featured such outstanding preachers as Fred Craddock, William Willimon, Calvin Miller, Eugene Lowry and Haddon Robinson.
