His body was cremated. A service will be at 2 p.m.
Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church in Lincoln, with
the Rev. P. Ronald Schmidt officiating. Visitation
will be one hour prior to the service.
Burial, with military rites, will be in New Union
Cemetery.
Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Lincoln
handled arrangements.
Mr. Lohrenz was custodian at Zion Lutheran Church
in Lincoln for 30 years.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
He was born July 24, 1915, in New Holland to
William and Anna Groth Lohrenz. He married Leona M.
Bentley on Dec. 12, 1938, in St. Charles, Mo.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; two sons,
David (and Sheila) Lohrenz of Jacksonville and Larry
(and Karen) Lohrenz of Lincoln; one daughter, Linda
(and John) Robinson of Lincoln; one brother, William
Lohrenz of Lincoln; one sister, Anna Lohrenz of
Lincoln; eight grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Two brothers preceded him in death.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church of
Lincoln and a 50-year member of American Legion Post
263.
Memorials may be made to the Lutheran Hour, Zion
Lutheran Memorial Fund or Hospice Care of Illinois.
