Ruth Cole

[SEPT. 18, 2006]  Ruth Cole, 88, of Lincoln died Friday, Sept. 15, 2006, at St. Clara's Manor.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Tuesday at Bennett Funeral Home. Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Carroll Richards of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Lincoln will officiate.

Burial will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, rural Moweaqua.

Mrs. Cole was the dining room supervisor at Lehn and Fink for many years.

She was born Aug. 8, 1918, in Assumption to Charles Stickel Sr. and Nina Howe Stickel. She married Claude R. Cole in 1939, and he preceded her in death Sept. 11, 1997.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Cole of rural Middletown; two sisters, Dorothy Wempen and Doris Robinson, both of Assumption; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Bob Cole and Ron Cole; three sisters, Lois Byers, Francis Myers and Mary Greider; and one brother, Charles Stickel Jr.

Mrs. Cole was an active member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and served on the Cumberland Presbyterian Women's Council. She also was a member of the Lincoln Woman's Club.

A special thank you to all of the staff at St. Clara's Manor and the friends who assisted with her care. Peacefulness is such a blessing.

Memorial donations may be made to First Cumberland Presbyterian Church and will be accepted at the funeral home.
