Burial will be in Atlanta Cemetery, rural Atlanta.
Mr. Swearingen worked for Olympia High School in the
maintenance department and also owned Mike's
Sharp-n-All.
He served his country in the U.S. Air Force.
He was born Dec. 1, 1943, in Springfield to
Donald "Zeke" and Isabell Walker Swearingen. He
married Mary Kindred on May 5, 1993.
He is survived by his wife, of Lincoln; children
Hanna (and Kenny) Garrel of Tulsa, Okla., Mary
Patricia (and Phil) Jordon of Washburn, Mo., Donald
(and Denae) Swearingen of Sand Springs, Okla.,
Brenda (and Mike) Fink of Beason, Kenny (and Vikki)
Hunter of Lincoln, Sharon (and Mike) Bauer of Tulsa,
Okla., and Claude Hunter of Bloomington; one sister,
Mary (and Bill) Roberts of Bloomington; 18
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Single Action Shooting
Society, National Muzzle Loading Rifle Association
and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed the Old
West, campfire cooking and chili cook-offs.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart
Association or the charity of the donor's choice.
