The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen
center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except
holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday
and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive
director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens,
regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a
bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and

Bingo sponsored by Maple Ridge Maple Ridge Care Centre will
sponsor the Thursday bingo games at The Oasis, beginning at 1 p.m.

Blood pressure checks
The Oasis offers free blood pressure checks every Friday
between 10 and 11:30 a.m. No appointments necessary.
Book club
Come join our very own book club at The Oasis. Rekindle the
rewards of reading a book and either sharing your thoughts with the
group or just sitting back and listening to others. Scheduled time
is 1 p.m. Monday. Refreshments provided. Bring a friend and enjoy
reading.

Tuesday lunch
The 11:30 a.m. lunch for April 10 features spaghetti with
meatballs, salad, garlic bread and a drink for $3.75, or $3.25 if
you stay and play cards. Deadline is noon Monday.
Van trips
April 25 -- The Oasis has a van trip available for "Church
Basement Ladies," a comedy, at
Circa '21. If you would like more information, please call
732-6132.
Winners for the week announced
Nancy Embrey and Mable Hoagland won the weekday pinochle card
game. Larry Van Bibber and Eleanor Barton were the weekend winners
for pinochle. Dorothy Oltmanns was the five-in-one winner.
