[August 10, 2007]  MOUNT PULASKI -- Dorothy Ellen Gupton, 81, of Mount Pulaski died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2007, at 4:07 p.m. at St. John's Hospice in Springfield.

Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. Monday at Fricke-Calvert-Schrader Funeral Home in Mount Pulaski.

A graveside service will follow at 2 p.m. Monday at Mount Pulaski Cemetery, with Bill Shanle officiating.

Mrs. Gupton worked at Lehn & Fink in Lincoln for 28 years.

She was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Middletown to Glen and Lola Rose Davison Davis. She married Thomas Arthur Gupton Jr. in Waterloo, Iowa, on Aug. 17, 1946. They were married for 54 years, and he preceded her in death on June 30, 2001.

She is survived by one son, Thomas A. (and Ann) Gupton III of LeSeuer, Minn.; two daughters, Becky Welch of Mount Pulaski and Carol A. (and Darrell) Pate of Carrollton, Texas; one sister, Betty Stoll of Lincoln; six grandchildren, Jason Beard of Mount Pulaski, Angie Marie (and Emory) Hilton of McAllister, Okla., Thomas A. (and Adina) Gupton IV of LeSeuer, Minn., Eric Welch of Rochester, Brandon Pate of Houston, Texas, and Brett (and Kendra) Pate of Houston, Texas; and five great-grandchildren, Thomas Arthur Gupton V, David Theodore and Samuel Frederick Gupton, all of LeSeuer, Minn., and Mason Jack and Madison Annabelle Hilton of McAllister, Okla.

She was also preceded by in death by two brothers, Charles and Donald Davis, and one sister, Arlene Redfairn.

She was a member of Mount Pulaski Methodist Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Protection League of Springfield, the Humane Society of Logan County or St. John's Hospice in Springfield.
