In the first game, Jake Olson (0-1) was the tough-luck losing
pitcher, allowing only two earned runs in four-plus innings of work.
The Wolverines took a tie game into the fifth inning, when fielding
errors and walks put the game out of reach.
Olson had the only extra-base hit, a double. Joey Olden, Hayden
Matson, Dane Eimer, Chanse Hoagland and Jordan Yarcho all had hits
for WL-B.
In the second game, WLB let a 6-2 lead slip away as Athens scored
nine times in the final inning to win going away.
Yarcho pitched three innings and was not involved in the
decision. Levi Curry (0-1) took the loss on the mound.
Sam Tiffany was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and three RBIs.
Yarcho and Braden Curry had two hits each, and Yarcho's triple was
the only extra-base hit of the game. Olden, L. Curry and Brian Cade
also had hits for the Wolverines.
WL-B will host Greenview in a 4:15 p.m. game on Wednesday.
