In the first game, Seth Graue, Dane Eimer and Jordan Yarcho combined
on the mound to allow only two hits in five innings of work. Eimer
(1-0) got the win and Yarcho the save as WL-B won 10-9. Reaching
base and scoring three times for WL-B were Brayden Curry, Levi Curry
and Yarcho. L. Curry was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Yarcho
was 3-for-3 with a double and three RBIs.
In the second game, WL-B prevailed 16-7. Jake Olson (1-1) was the
winning pitcher, scattering five hits over five innings and allowing
only two earned runs. Joey Olden pitched the final two innings,
allowing only one unearned run, while giving up no hits.
WL-B’s offense came alive, pounding out 13 hits, led by Tate
Gordon, who twice hit doubles to clear the bases. Gordon was 3-for-4
with seven RBIs. Olson was 2-for-3 with three runs scored and five
RBIs. Olden and Zach Schleder were both 2-for-3 with four runs
scored. Schleder had two RBIs.
WL-B hosts Carroll Catholic at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
