ATLANTA -- Glenn K. Halsey, 82, of
Atlanta, died Sunday, Dec. 9, 2007, at 11:20 a.m. at BroMenn
Regional Medical Center in Normal.
His funeral will be at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Quiram-Peasley
Funeral Home in Atlanta. Maurice Stribling will officiate.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home. |
Cremation rites have been accorded. Burial, with
military rites, will be in Atlanta Cemetery.
Mr. Halsey retired from Eaton Corporation in
Lincoln in 1986 after 25 years of service.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran with service on the
USS Yuma in the South Pacific.
He was born June 22, 1925, in Waynesville, to
Carl and Anna Ruble Halsey. He married Wilma
McRoberts in Lincoln on March 2, 1946.
He is survived by his wife; three daughters,
Linda (and Dan) Brooks of Atlanta, Sandra (and Lee)
Martin of Suwanee, Ga., and Karen (and Rick) Baxter
of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two sons, Rick (and Janet)
Halsey of Atlanta and Michael Halsey of Atlanta; one
brother, Tom (and Virginia) Halsey of Normal; two
sisters, Melva Neaville of Mount Pulaski and Carmen
Mearida of Clinton; 12 grandchildren; and 16
great-grandchildren. He is also survived by
his former spouse, Wilma Davis of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and
one sister. |
He will be missed by family, friends and comrades at
the Country Aire, Casey's and the Waynesville
American Legion.
The family extends special thanks to Dr. Wittoon
Weraarchakul for great care and special friendship.
Memorials may be made to the Atlanta Rescue
Squad.
