Oasis Update

[December 19, 2007]  The Oasis, Logan County's senior citizen center, 501 Pulaski St. in Lincoln, is open weekdays, except holidays, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The center also is open on Friday and Sunday nights for table games. Dominic Dalpoas is the executive director. Activities are open to all Logan County senior citizens, regardless of membership. Friends of The Oasis members receive a bimonthly newsletter by mail and reduced rates for classes and trips. For more information, call 732-6132 or 732-5844.

Extension to sponsor bingo

The Logan County Extension Unit will sponsor the regular Thursday bingo games that begin at 1 p.m. Come join the fun and win food items.

Alzheimer support group to meet

The Alzheimer support group will meet at 1 p.m. Thursday in the senior center's library. No reservation is necessary. The group provides support and information for caregivers and extended family and is facilitated by a coordinator from Maple Ridge Care Centre.

Oasis board meeting

The Oasis board meeting for December is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. Thursday. The meeting is open to the public. To schedule any agenda times, the board must receive notification in writing on or before the fifth day of the month prior to a meeting date.

Oasis closed for holiday

The Oasis will be closed Dec. 24 and 25. Activities will resume Dec. 26. Happy holidays!
