Generous Gift Helps All Veterans Park After Ice Storm

Send a link to a friend

To the editor:

Lincoln AMVETS Post 71 received a memorial gift this week, on behalf of Lt. Martha Marie Fleming, in the amount of $1,000 from Lincoln resident and mother Ms. Elvira Fleming.

The donation outlined above was in response to the uninsured ice and storm damage done to the flags and flagpoles at All Veterans Park in Lincoln during last week's ice storm. The damage and the estimated cost of repairs was $1,000.

Ms. Elvira Fleming had previously purchased a granite brick for her daughter, and it is presently displayed in All Veterans Park in Lincoln.

If you, too, would like to purchase a $35 engraved brick to honor any veteran, male or female, from any branch of service, please contact Les Van Bibber at 217-732-3438, the AMVETS office at 217-732-8829 or pick up a blank form from the dispenser located near the veterans monument in All Veterans Park.
